I didn't Catch any Fish, so I Ate the Bait

Updated on September 16, 2013

If you bring Bait, you will never Starve

When I go fishing, I seem to always be hungrier than when I am at home.

I also almost always forget to bring enough food to satisfy my hunger, especially if spending the night.

This website was inspired by an old friend of mine. He used to fish for carp using Spam in a can and would always take his fishing knife and eat the first chunk before forming a Spam ball around his hook.

My Father used to fish with carp and catfish bait including dough balls, Underwood Deviled Ham and also shrimp. Shrimp is good for deep lake or river catfish. You can curl it's natural shape right around the hook.

I dedicate this to my friend, who I went fishing with many times and when my stomach always seemed to be growling.

When you get hungry, eat the bait!

Nothing like a good Worm Burger

No, these are not on the menu

I have been fishing my entire life and something about it, makes me very hungry.

No, I wouldn't eat conventional bait like worms, but baits that I have used are very edible. Below are simple little foods that you can not only use for bait, but eat yourself during or after fishing.

Yes, you might clean your fish and eat them, but you can also eat these delicious "field" foods.

Included in these delicacies are man-sized portions of protein, vegetables and even dessert. Not only do the videos explain how to use them for bait, you are also given recipes to eat them yourself!

Please enjoy this menu of fine fishing foods and please leave some comments.

Tie the Line around your Toe and take a Nap after Eating

Studies show it is good for you

When you are out fishing, you have a tendency to doze off and take a nap, whether you intend to or not.

Historically, it was not considered healthy to take a nap after eating. New studies have shown that a good thirty minute nap is actually good for your body and digestive system. A short power nap is deemed the best as it allows your body to work naturally. You shouldn't go into a deep sleep which can cause alertness difficulty for you the rest of the day, and you can sleep more regularly at night.

Go ahead and take a nap after eating, but if you are fishing, I suggest you are not in a boat floating towards the lake dam or the rapids in the river!

The Dessert
