Creepy Headless Tombstone Statues in the Graveyard

Updated on July 31, 2013

Headstones are Creepy, but Nothing is Creepier than a Headless Statue in a Cemetery

Something about cemeteries has always been a little scary to me. I am not sure why.

The ominous old headstones and crumbling statues almost always made me take a second look. On the statues that had heads, I thought that they would come alive and speak to me. On the ones that were missing heads, I expected their hands to start moving around and beckoning me towards them.

Living near a cemetery as a child always made me imagine things like this. I guess if you never lived near one, your imagination may not be as vivid, but mine was.

Let's take a little journey to the old cemeteries and see if we can find some headless statues for Halloween.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ways to get A-"Head"...Well, Maybe Not

Being headless does save on Shampoo and Conditioner

Thinking back on when I was a child, I remember living very close to a cemetery so they have always been a little creepy to me.

I remember riding my bike past it and always hoped that it wasn't getting dark. When night started to fall, it would always make me pedal a little faster to get home.

A friend and I used to drive through that same cemetery on Halloween and play Alice Cooper on the car cassette player.

We also put cassette recorders there at night to come back the next day to see if we had captured anything. My Mother would not let me play the cassette, telling me that I might have captured a spirit on it.

What always scared me were the very old headstones and graves. The graves that had statues whose heads were missing were especially scary.

This website is dedicated to my early fear of those headless statues in the cemeteries. I have collected several photos for you to see and have various ways to capture your opinions about this spooky subject.

Happy Halloween!

Headless by Daniel O'Flaherty - A fictional story of a man's reemerging from his Cryogenic Freeze

The Carnival Of Cruelty
The Carnival Of Cruelty
No, Walt Disney and Ted Williams are not in this book. This is a fantastic fiction novel based along the Science of Cryonics or Cryogenics. Some people freeze their body, some just freeze their head. In the case of this individual, he is revived and has some interesting stories to tell, as well as getting involved in a few new ones. An interesting perspective of Cryonics.
