Mike the Headless Chicken

Updated on April 4, 2013

THIS IS A TRUE STORY, NOT A HOAX!

Ever hear of a headless chicken...that lived? Well, here is the story.

Growing up on a farm, we raised chickens and occasionally had to kill one for out meals. I didn't like the process but it is something that happens.

As far a Mike's story is concerned, a farmer wanted to have a chicken dinner and he chopped off the chicken's head. To his surprise, the chicken did not die and it lived for almost 18 months. The chicken became known as "Mike" and the owner traveled around and fed the chicken with an eyedropper.

This is a pretty amazing story that now touts a festival, movies, videos, artwork and much more! I have never been to the Mike festival but it supposedly has a huge cult following.

It's funny how a chicken can capture the attention of people all over the world!

I hope you have fun with this site and please feel free to leave me some comments!
