Great Children's Book - The Leaf Man of the Fall Season
The Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert and other Leafy Things
Who is the Leaf Man? Is he a make-believe character or a legend?
He is definitely not as prominent as Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, but he is important, nonetheless.
The Leaf Man is a character in a book by Lois Ehlert. He comes around during the Fall season and is anywhere the wind blows. In fact, that is how he gets around. So where is he exactly? You will need to read the book to find out.
This book, with leaf cutouts, has won several awards and is a classic in bringing out the imagination of your child, while keeping them busy.
I recommend this book for any child, especially during autumn. You will probably enjoy it yourself. Just don't tell the kids you read it before them!
Beware, the Leaf Man Cometh! - Almost overnight, he turns the leaves from green to yellow.
Relax Tom; I Said Fall "Season," not "Seasoning."
Since moving to Arizona, I really miss the Fall season, which is my favorite season.
I have learned from my own experience that I can enjoy the Yellow Aspens near Flagstaff or the reds oaks near Sedona. While the trees are not nearly as plentiful, I can get my fill during the season.
Other times of the year or if I am not in Northern Arizona, I peruse the Fall colors on the internet and even have some on the walls in my house.
Another way to find Fall colors is in searching and reading the countless books that are out there.
If your children enjoy Fall like I do, then there are some books below that I highly recommend. They need not all be picture books. There are many stories that just take place during the cool, crisp air of Fall.
Have fun and please do not leave without dropping your mark in the guestbook.
Thanks for the visit!
