Create your own Mystery Machine for Halloween
If you can’t or don’t want to wear a costume for Halloween, just dress up your vehicle.
There are many ideas to put a costume on your transportation. Some of these include "Herbie, the Love Bug," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "the Batmobile," the "Deathmobile" from "Animal House," any of the characters from "Cars," or many more. However, my favorite is “The Mystery Machine” from Scooby Doo.
Yes, I am planning to dress as “Shaggy” and it isn’t really far from my normal day to day wear, but I thought it would be cool to pull up to the party in my own Mystery Machine.
Yes, I know, I just have a Toyota Pickup truck but I did find some cool “Mystery Machine” wall decals on Amazon. They have safe adhesive, and they can be pulled off easily. When I lived in Germany, one of the things that really stunned me was to see a $100,000 BMW or Mercedes rolling down the street with a decal of "Garfield" or "Alf" plastered to the side, and these were not the kind of stickers that were easily removed.
I was inspired because of the Mystery Machine that I saw in Washington. I have included some photos below. I was just driving down an alley after making a wrong turn and there it was. It was closer to any others than I have ever seen. Maybe it was the model for the cartoons or the movie?
Somehow, I don’t know if I can keep the stickers on my truck very long. I have had some compliments, especially from children. I am afraid that I might go into a store and then when I return, the stickers will be gone. I will then be able to say, “I would’ve gotten away with it if it hadn’t been for those meddling kids!”
