Beautiful Pumpkin Patches in Autumn
The Beautiful Colorful Pumpkin Patch!
When I was a kid, I remember going to Circleville, Ohio to see the Pumpkin Festival. Part of the festival was weighing of the pumpkins and determining the heaviest pumpkin in Ohio. If I remember, the pumpkin was taken to the Ohio State Fair and displayed along with the Butter Cow, but that is another story!
I just love the colors of Orange and Black and the contrast and what better way than to show the natural beauty of the pumpkin!
Hopefully, you will have fun on this website as I intend it to be nostalgic as well as colorful and fun! Please visit often and don't forget to tell me what you think below.
Thanks for the visit! I'll tell Linus you said "Hello." Where is he, by the way? Look for the human Linus!
Pumpkins I Have Known
Pumpkins, those little seeds that grow into large orange things. The fascination with the pumpkin has grown within the United States in the past several centuries. They were native to the Americas and were used by the Native Americans as a food source and also to make utensils out of. Christopher Columbus even reportedly took them back to Europe but not intended as a food source, they were used to feed pigs.
Historically, the first Jack O' Lanterns were made out of turnips and potatoes and used in Celtic celebrations. It was found that pumpkins would be easier to carve and the modern Jack O' Lantern was born!
We had a pumpkin patch and I loved watching the pumpkins grow. The pumpkins were always the last thing we picked and I loved freshly made pumpkin pie. I am sure that you have had some pumpkin experiences that you would love to share! Please enjoy this nostalgic walk in the Pumpkin Patch!
