When I went to College, the cost of college books was the most expensive part of the schooling.
Back in the 80's each semester could cost several $hundred just in books. I had a difficult time affording this while I was working full time and raising a family.
I went to Wright State University and they had a bookstore where you could buy used books at a discount. Those books, however, were not always available and some of the professors required new editions.
College costs continue to rise. Many students have a very limited budget and to make sure all expenses are covered, they are doing everything they can to cut costs.
