Scary Frightening Eyes!

Updated on May 4, 2013

Windows to the Soul?

Ever hear of eyes as "windows to the soul?" Well, I do love eyes but some eyes are just downright soul-less!

This site, just in time for Halloween, gives you an opportunity to check out some really scary eyes! You will also see some videos and have some fun.

So sit back with your peepers and take a tour of these orbs...don't forget to sit or you could fall and poke your eye out!

I don't know what it is about eyes, but I have always been mesmerized by them. I used to do some blind dating (no pun intended) and when people asked me what I liked about a particular date, I would tell them that I liked their eyes. I remember dating a lady who had beautiful brown eyes. My friend asked me what I liked about her and I told him that her big brown eyes were very attractive. His retort was "Well, cows have big brown eyes but I wouldn't date one." Anyway, before I digress too much, I have tried to do a collection of eyes on this site that are in the spirit ...or should I say that have no spirit ...for the upcoming Halloween season. Regardless of the season though, you have to admit, there are some "killer" eyes here...Literally!

Scarecrow

Scarecrow

by Teresa White

My heart is fallow

though you've thrown seed my way,

enticing me like a scarecrow

with your sewn-on eyes, lopsided

smile. Your arms flap and your

gloved hands reach out to me

but all is empty

on this worn-out piece of land.

For seven years my heart's

been picked by birds.

There is an order here.

The crops must be rotated every few years:

alfalfa, corn. Corn, alfalfa.

I can wait my turn.

Memories of You

Author - Unknown

Each night I sit and listen

For that distant rumbling roar

As the dog went up to the window

When you road up to our door

As you stood there in the shadows

With your colours wet with rain

To once more see your smile again

Would surely take away this pain

But the garage now stands empty

Just an oil pool stains the floor

No more the parties on the lawn

No beer cans by the door

No music laughter all is gone

Yet still those friends remain

They ride by now but seldom call

They know not what to say

To once more ride behind you

Would be a dream come true

But dreams are for the bedroom now

My memories of you

Scary, Fat and Giant Monster

Author - Unknown

There is a giant monster somewhere

near the Indian sea.

It is as fat and furry and

as scary as can be.

It has three funny looking horns

and one eye on its head.

Its claws are sharp and spiky

and its eyes are crimson red.

Were it to jump up 10 miles high

and fall down with a 'BOOM!'

The whole Earth would then shake and shake

we'd think we were at doom.

If you throw it an onion it

would stand there and just cry.

The noise would break some glasses

and the folks would say, "Oh my!"

Beware folks, for it's coming to you

right this very now.

The giant monster knows exactly

where you live, somehow.

I'm gonna tell you the best thing yet

which is quite contrary:

The scary, fat and giant monster

is imaginary.

The Eyeball Poem

Author - Unknown

She kept a jar beside her bed

A jar of eyeballs it was said

For everyday the world she'd see

All manner of evil roaming free

This world of secrets, best unknown

Scarred her mind when they were shown

The sights would make her stomach knot and by night her eyes would bleed and rot

For this reason the jar was there, to replace the dead ones with a spare

Alas one day the jar did shatter

And out the door her eyeballs scattered

She roams this world without those eyes

Unable to see man's slow demise

A Tear From A Glass Eye

-by Douglas Holder

Perhaps it is better

that I view this as an absurdity

or a mere condensation

on an inanimate

piece of Quartz.

I should

come up

with

another rational

explanation

for another drop

in the bucket

realize

it's just

a

dreamer's

cry in the dark.

I chuckle

and close its case

and wipe

the dampness

from my cheek.
