This website is dedicated to the end of the day and some of the gorgeous sunsets that I have seen. I have also included a link to a calculator below, in which you can find the time of your sunset at your particular location; no matter where you live!
It doesn't matter if this is bedtime or not, sunsets are God's work of art and I appreciate the beauty in all of them.
I have taken many more photos than I have here but I have selected the top twenty or so photos that I have enjoyed. Most of these were taken on the West Coast of the United States but I have also lived in the East and have seen some spectacular sunsets there also.
My photographic journey begins with Hawaii and my favorite sunset photo. There is nothing like a sunset over the ocean. Washington, which I visited recently, also produced some spectacular sunset images.

Is this Website Backwards?
To begin a conversation about the sun, I guess many would feel that you need to talk about sunrise first.
I guess I am a little backwards and much prefer the end of the day over the beginning. Being a Night Owl of sorts, A lot of my day is just beginning at sunset. I am rarely ever up for sunrise so my photo collection of them in lacking in many ways.
This site is dedicated to the many sunrises that I have seen. I have been fortunate to live in the Western United States and until about twenty years ago, I saw some sunrises but always knew that it was just an indication that things were about to get really cold. When I was little, I would get to have fun in the fields and woods and wouldn't head home until the sun started setting.
This little mini collection of my photography is just the best of my collection. I have many more. I have some sunset photos in stages where the sun starts going down, to just about the time it hits the ocean (so to say), and then disappears below the Pacific.
Most of these were take with my camera to my side so I wasn't looking directly at the sun because we know what damage that can do. I suggest that you do the same. Our eyes are too precious to lose.
Please walk along the beach with me and watch the glorious sunrise. You will be glad you did.

Being out in the Sun - What are your thoughts?
Growing up, I was out in the sun all of the time. We were not concerned with dangers of the sun or skin cancer. Today, there is a lot of information about the sun and it's effect on our bodies.
What is your opinion on tanning and sun exposure?
